From Kuala Lumpur to Saigon: why I chose IQI to write my next chapter
Tu Anh Nguyen (Ann) · October 2026
Some names you know long before you imagine working with them. For me, IQI is one of those names.
I didn't first see the IQI logo in Saigon, but on project hoardings in Kuala Lumpur, where I lived and worked for nearly eight years. Only when I came home and asked myself "what will I do with the next ten years?" did the name come back – as a very natural choice.
Kuala Lumpur: where I first met IQI
IQI is a real estate group born in Malaysia, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. In 2019, IQI Global merged with Juwai.com, the Chinese-language international property portal for Asian buyers, to form Juwai IQI – combining a large consultant network with technology that connects buyers to property across borders. When it moved into its new Kuala Lumpur headquarters in 2024, the group reported more than 40,000 consultants.
Living in Malaysia, I saw that people there don't just buy an apartment; they buy transparency. Clear prices, clear contracts, clear responsibilities. That is the standard I want to bring home.

Ten years of preparation
If a working life lasts about thirty years, I have walked through the first ten – and I see them as ten years of preparation:
- Three years with three Saigon startups (The Nest, Vista Bookstore, Vinahardware): learning to find a way when there is no big machine behind you.
- Multinational companies in Kuala Lumpur: managing client accounts in digital advertising, learning how large organisations run and how international clients think.
- Building my own business, Hương Vị Hà Nội KL: a Vietnamese food brand in Kuala Lumpur that grew from a side project, teaching me to own every decision.
- Six homes abroad – five apartments and one landed house: six times reading contracts, comparing prices, negotiating, and understanding the worries of someone searching for a home in an unfamiliar place.
Why come home – and why IQI Vietnam?
When I closed Hương Vị Hà Nội KL to prepare for a new leap, I looked for an environment big and professional enough that every day there would be someone better than me to learn from. Three reasons brought me to IQI Vietnam:
- A brand I had seen with my own eyes – in Malaysia, not in an advert.
- A global network of offices and people, including a dedicated international property team – the foundation for advising not only on Ho Chi Minh City apartments, but also on homes in Malaysia, Thailand and beyond.
- Structured training and official primary projects – IQI Vietnam distributes for many major developers, so consultants are trained directly on product, legal matters and sales policies.

The first days: back in the student's seat
Ten years of experience, and I still started again as a student. My first weeks at IQI were back-to-back training: market, law, reading price sheets, calculating cash flow, and learning each project in depth before being allowed to advise. In parallel I am taking the professional brokerage course for my practising certificate – because understanding the law is the foundation of this job.

Teammates: what is not in the job description
What I value most at IQI is not in any contract: teammates who patiently show a newcomer every detail, from reading a legal document to answering a client's hardest question.

On the ground: real projects, real clients
After training comes the field. With my colleagues I attend launches, visit show flats, listen to developers and ask the questions clients will ask.

What I bring to you
- I understand buyers' worries – I have searched for a home abroad six times.
- I tell you the weak points too – not just what is in the brochure.
- IQI's network in many countries behind me – when you want to look beyond Ho Chi Minh City.
The first ten years were preparation. The next ten, I want to spend helping you with one of the biggest decisions in life: choosing a home.
