Why I chose real estate
I came back to Vietnam because I believe in the country's room to grow: infrastructure is still being built, the population is young, and urbanisation is low compared with developed economies. Real housing demand is large, and good supply has not caught up.
Working with clients on Google Ads and Meta projects, then running my own restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, taught me three things: listen until you understand what the client really needs, understand how buyers research online, and own every decision you make.
Vietnam's legal framework is also becoming clearer with the new Land Law, Housing Law and Real Estate Business Law. It is a good time to do this work seriously, and for the long term.
Six homes, one lesson
From a four-bedroom apartment next to the KTM railway in Petaling, to a studio at ViVo, a low-rise home among the trees of Pantai Hillpark – where my child was born – and finally a landed house with a big yard in Taman Desa: every move taught me to read a neighbourhood, a contract and a community of neighbours.
Why IQI
I first noticed IQI in Malaysia, where the group is headquartered. In 2019 IQI Global merged with Juwai.com, the Chinese-language international property portal, to form Juwai IQI; by 2024 the group reported more than 40,000 consultants. For my clients this means one thing: when you ask about a project in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Sydney, I can check with colleagues on the ground.
How I work
- Listen first: living or investing, budget, where you work, what your family needs – before we talk about any project.
- Compare honestly: two or three suitable options, with legal documents, construction progress and a "what to weigh up" section for each.
- Stay with you: show-flat visits, reading the contract together, following progress until handover – and after.
